f(x)’s Luna Has Gone Solo With ‘Free Somebody’! +Debut Review

31 May

f(x)’s Luna has finally debuted as a solo artist with a fierce new music video and EP album called “Free Somebody”.

If you don’t know who f(x) is: f(x), the Korean Spice Girls

Of all the f(x) members, Luna has been known to be the most talented but the most outshined member. Many of her fans labeled her the “underdog” among other “lead vocalists” in other groups and fans have been anticipating her solo for a long time. f(x) as a group has been considered the underdogs under their powerhouse label SM Entertainment.

Luna is a very talented young woman. Everyone has known this. Take a look at my collection of her talents when you get a chance: f(x)’s Luna, How Talented is She?

It’s about time she went solo! Luna has come with it this time! She’s singing, dancing, WRITING, and looking fierce and beautiful at the same time!

I just want to take this time to review her overall comeback: her teasers, her music video, and her album!

Teasers dropped around May 28, showing her natural girl-next-door charms and beauty.

Luna makes her natural look both sporty and sexy! I love it. She’s really bringing out her real self. Ever since she went on a diet, she has slimmed herself down and now looks healthier than ever. But she always looked naturally pretty even with her chubbiness. Her photos are fantastic and even better when you see them in her album booklet.

Next, take a look at her MUSIC VIDEO:

This music video is fierce, sexy, sleek, but also artsy and unique! There is definitely an f(x) vibe going on here. You can tell Luna has a hand in choosing some of the songs that make it on f(x)’s albums. Everything is perfect for me. She is showing the world that she isn’t just a lead vocalist but also a terrific dancer. But fans already knew this.

I always loved that Luna had unique facial features, nice strong legs, and an overall separate look from the Kpop standard.

The DHL shirt is being spotted as well as the Powerpuff Girls’ Buttercup. I ❤ it so much. I want to rock this look. Yellow seems to be the trend among SM Town artists…

The dancing in this video is a little bit of Janet Jackson and I see some BoA Kwon (that ponytail reminds me of BoA’s “My Name” and “Quincy” days). Luna used to be known as BoA’s little sister back during her debut days. I see it even more now that she has gone solo. XD

The video shows Luna with a young man (not sure who he is, someone drop a bone and let me know). She seems to be fantasizing about him in this elevator and wants to be free to get with him. With all of these idols trying to date, I can kind of see where this music video is going…

By the way, at the end, it is NOT a condom. There are so many people misinterpreting it. It’s candy. 😉 You know Kpop is subtle…

And now, her album:

1)Free Somebody

The title track of the album has an EDM feel, which has been really popular in Kpop for a while. It has really influenced f(x)’s music. f(x) is known as an experimental group and her group’s music really seems to have influenced her style.

It’s groovalicious, seductive, and catchy. It’s definitely a nice dance-pop song. It’s my favorite club song of the year. Luna doesn’t bring out the strongest of her vocals here, but she still certainly delivers. I wouldn’t call this song sub-par, but Luna can certainly sing stronger. Perhaps she’s saving her voice, knowing that she will have to perform this live…Since this is the promotional track.

It’s still one of my favorite tracks from her album. It’s something, as many pointed out, that could be good for a fashion montage at Forever 21. This is a song that can get stuck in the noggin.

The song is about being free to follow your dreams. It seems to be in regards to Korea’s strict rules about dating and wanting to be free to date. If not, it can certainly relate to people who have that desire.

2) Breathe

A nice, smooth ballad that really showcases Luna’s powerful vocals. I’m happy this was the second track because it balances out the pump of the first song. It may sound like your average ballad, but the chorus brings a unique flavor that I love. It suits Luna.

The song seems to reflect time and how it is passing by. People are changing, people are forgotten, and everything becomes distant memories. It could be a break-up song, where you are left alone, or it can relate to how friendships break and change over time. It depends on how you want to relate to it. I love the lyrics.

3) Keep On Doin’

Definitely an SM-style sound, definitely reminds me of BoA (except that rap-talk part, that’s more f(x)). This a funky electronic pop tune that may be good for going out with friends at night. It has a mature and yet happy feeling. It has a touch of retro in it.

I love the part: It’s Ok.

That makes this song ok with me. 😉

The lyrics seem to be helping to boost someone’s confidence and making its listeners feel good. Just keep dancing, just keep smiling, just keep being yourself. It has a nice message that suits Luna’s cheery personality.

4)예쁜 소녀 (I Wish)

Luna wrote this song herself! Amazing! It’s a lovely, dreamy ballad that seems to be to her younger self or to any younger girls who need guidance. It is saying ‘try to “pour honey” into everything to make it better and avoid disappointment or “bitterness”‘…From what I’m hearing…

It’s a good message for young ladies who are just trying to find their way into the world. Luna has certainly grown up from the little girl she used to be.

5) Galaxy

Also could’ve been a BoA cut once upon a time, I love it. It’s upbeat and kind of reminds me of the electronic music in 2010 to 2012. It is upbeat and new-age. It’s catchy. Her vocals actually shine in this song, surprisingly. It’s hard to achieve that in such an electronic pop song. It takes me to another world, honestly.

Sounds like a love song about getting lost with someone and escaping into the “galaxy” with them.

6) My Medicine

Just six songs aren’t enough. This is the final song on the mini album. 😦

This is another smooth ballad from Luna. This was also written by Luna! I’m so impressed with the talent she has put forth with this debut. She has shown her individual color for sure!

This song is so sweet and wistful. It brings out Luna’s vocals well. I hope she sings this live along with all the others. The song is so beautiful down to the lyrics. The song is for her mother and also seems to reminisce about the past.

Readers, please support Luna and her solo endeavors! She’s really worked hard for this and it shows. I’m so happy that she’s finally getting the shine she deserves. This album is currently on repeat and will probably be one of my favorite Kpop albums of the year.

A major f(x) fan is back to give you a review of f(x)’s latest album 4 Walls. Honestly, I’d been so preoccupied with life that f(x)’s comeback creeped up on me without me even being fully prepared. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect.

After f(x) member Sulli left the group, I was a little worried about this comeback. I made up in my mind not to expect too much.

Like always, f(x) managed to surprise me…Which wasn’t surprising at the same time? But it was. DARN IT ALL! Just when I think I have this unexpected thing nailed when it comes to f(x), here they come with something I never even expected. They are very different from any girl group comeback this year. I can’t say that I was totally prepared. I didn’t have many expectations, but I did expect something upbeat.

I don’t think I was entirely prepared for what we fans actually were handed.

I’ve touched on f(x) before, so check out some of my links below:

GN’s LEAST FAVORITE f(x) album?

Why f(x) of all K-pop groups?

The Most Unique Girl Groups in All of History (f(x) makes the list)

If you want to hear other f(x) albums, just to get an idea of who they are, you can listen below:

What isn’t unexpected about this album is the experimental sounds. I was prepared for that. Still, how can someone prepare for experimental sounds without feeling a little uneasy?

I’m going to start by reviewing their photo images for the comeback.

The images for this album have a 1970’s retro vibe. Still, the girls are quite natural. They seem chilled, relaxed, and fresh-faced. They are wearing comfortable clothes. I really like the natural and comfortable feeling. Really, it’s not as unusual as last year’s Red Light concept.

It seems f(x) keeps getting lost in forests. Electric Shock‘s images also put the girls in a forest. Only this time, their outfits aren’t as eclectic.

I love these photos. I really wish Sulli’s face could magically show up. She would do so much justice to such natural photos like these.

The album cover looks like a booklet. It doesn’t look like it holds a CD, but it does. I really like this design. It blends in well on a bookshelf. It’s amazing to flip through. There are random versions. There’s a red one and a white one. On the back, you can get any random f(x) member’s picture.

4 walls album booklet

The most amazing part of this comeback was the promotion. I covered that here —> f(x)s art exhibit

The Music Video was very unique. I really liked how aesthetic and different it was. I’m glad it was meaningful and not some generic dance number. The meaning is kind of hard to digest, but the visuals and imagery are captivating. I keep finding myself watching it over and over just to get the sense of it…

This is kind of what the video means: The video is showing the girls in their own world, or dimension. Victoria is first, Krystal is next, Luna, then Amber. They follow each other in the same patterns: wake up, fix their hair, look out the window, put a jacket on, head in the kitchen, get cup, pour tea. What’s interesting is that they are all doing the same things within this 4-wall dimension.

But Amber dropped the cup first, breaking the pattern. So when it was Krystal’s turn to pour the tea, she didn’t have a cup, so it spilled, which made Victoria slip and fall in her dimension. They don’t realize that what one girl is doing will affect the whole group within the walls because they aren’t aware that they are sharing this dimension.

When Victoria falls, her “illusion” is breaking. She starts to see visions of them in a forest. She runs first, the other girls follow her in the dimension, but they start to see visuals of the last dimension that occurred, but was frozen because of the break in the dimension. Victoria was pouring the cup, which froze. Krystal began to realize that Victoria was in her dimension then. Luna frozen in the air was like when Victoria slipped and fell. Luna stepped on the cup that was broken by Amber. The girls are starting to realize they are part of the same dimension. Krystal runs, scared, and end up falling in water, she tries to emerge and Victoria comes up, then she goes back under, Luna does the same, and ends up coming up for air. She gets out of the tub, probably afraid this is crazy. She hurries and goes to sleep, to try and fix all of this. The next morning, the girls are now aware that they are in the same dimension. All are rushing, getting ready, and the routine is going back to normal. But Amber is about to drop the cup, and Victoria remembers when she was in the 4-walled dimension. Victoria reaches the cup first and saves it to stop things from happening again, showing that they are no longer in their own world. She is able to step into Amber’s world and save the cup.

The broken cup may represent Sulli, the fragile member that was broken away from the group. All of the other members were so busy in their own world, that they let her break, which affected the group strongly. Victoria, the group leader, in the end tries to prevent it from happening again.

But their choreography on MCountdown! That choreography was so polished and crispy like chicken, they snap, crackled, and popped! I was TOO impressed. Their outfits were sharp and the girls shined. I kind of hope they release a dance version just to please fans who can’t appreciate depth.

Now, let’s get down to the music. WOOT!

If you didn’t like Red Light for its strange trap beats, then you’re in luck! This album is ten times better. The songs are smoother and more addictive. It’s still experimental. I love every single song on this album. I feel that f(x) really adapted the EDM-electronic style of music well on this album. This is actually my second favorite album from f(x), still after Pink Tape though.

Most of the songs on this album seem like love songs. It doesn’t have the variety of topic that Pink Tape had, and yet, somehow, I don’t mind it.

1)4 Walls

The first song on this album is “4 Walls”. It is the title track and the lead track. Surprisingly, it has a smooth, EDM indie sound. It is quite addictive after the first listen. And with some nice speakers and headphones, too? It’s a melody you can listen to while going to the store or dancing at a hot club. I was definitely not expecting this kind of song to be the lead. But it really is unexpected in a good way. It’s a classy number and I love it.

It really reminds me of Utada. And I’m a huge fan of Utada! I can really see Utada taking this song and nailing it.

I’m sure f(x) fans would be deliciously surprised to hear a song like this as a title track. But guess what? It’s still a great song. Even Amber’s rap gives this song such a strong feeling. I’m just so…in shock right now. I hope all of this comes across clear.

4 Walls seems to be a hint at them being stronger four members even after the departure of Sulli. It’s supposed to be about falling in love for the first time and having confused feelings about it.

f(x) definitely shows that they are growing up, and they are growing up nicely. I’m really impressed with this song. I wasn’t expected to be this satisfied…And yet, I feel this isn’t the f(x) I knew before. And yet, I like it. It’s so strange…

The music video was quite unique. It was natural, and yet a bit mysterious. I feel that the events in the music video possibly distracted viewers from the actual song and it takes a few listens to really grasp it all. It’s so different from everything f(x) has done, yet it also feels like an f(x) vibe. The video may be a little confusing to people.

Maybe this explanation can help: http://jiyeonsulli.tumblr.com/post/131974252469/explanation-of-fx-4-walls-mv

2) Glitter

A song that brings me back to BoA’s old days. It’s light, and yet has that electronic style I’m really starting to dig from f(x). This has an amazing beat if you listen to this song with some headphones or speakers. This feels like an f(x) song. This sounds like it could be off of a Disney soundtrack to some people, but I would best describe it as a re-vamped version of the Rugrats’s theme song. This song is catchy.

This song is about loving someone so much that they shine in front of you.

3) Deja Vu

This song is really upbeat. It’s not at all what I expected when I first saw the title. I guess I kept thinking of Beyonce’s “Deja Vu”. It’s a happy, light number in comparison. It still has the electronic style f(x) has gotten comfortable with. It’s mixed with some funk. It seems suited to their 1970’s retro theme.

Clearly the song is about seeing someone you love everywhere, to the point it seems like deja vu.

4) X

If you thought the last one was funky, let’s get down to this number. It definitely sounds like a re-vamped 1970’s song. It’s funky, soulful, and fun. I love it. From the very beginning, the sound was very distinct and different. This is just what I expect from f(x). I actually hope they have an MV for this song and set it in the 1970s. That would be epic and unique.

And yet, this still feels like an f(x) song.

When they say, “Chemical X”, I keep thinking of the Powerpuff Girls. XD What’s with me and 1990s cartoons?

This song is about some body to body, skin to skin action…Though I don’t think it’s sexual…At least I don’t think so…

5) Rude Love

Amber is singing…Enough said.

This is one of my favorite songs on this album besides the title track. It’s very catchy. It’s EDM, electronic styled with melodious voices present throughout. Rude Love is pretty self-explanatory. I really can’t help listening to this song over and over. The voices! Wow! I really just think this slays my heart into many pieces. It’s definitely going to be the song of the year for me. I feel so much talent in this song.

I think this may be a little sexual. 😉 A guy who’s polite during the day, but rude at night? Okay…

6) Diamond

This seems to be a favorite of everyone. I agree. This would be a very public-friendly song for everybody. But I’m so happy it’s not the title MV. I love f(x) for making their artistic splash wherever they are.

This song is definitely my jam. I think this will be on repeat until times get better.

The beginning of the song sounds like it has so much attitude, and then f(x)’s lead vocalist just comes out of the box to make her splash, as usual. This song is amazing. I really do hope they have a re-package and that this song becomes an MV as well. There’s so much potential with this album. The artistry is impressive. I even love Amber’s rap segment. OMAGAWD.

With f(x), music videos don’t make their group, their albums define them.

The meaning of this song is empowering. It’s about having a strong heart and learning to love one’s self without a man in your life. I think it speaks of a woman’s success and being happy with her accomplishments and not looking for someone to give her self-esteem. It compares a woman to a “diamond”. She’s worth a lot and should know it. I love this song, wow.

7) Traveler

This song is a bit quirky. It brings to mind a 1980s song. It sort of reminds me of Vacance from Red Light, though not in sound. It just reminds me of traveling in that same upbeat way. This song is a little more relaxed, but it’s still fun and light. Block B’s Zico is featured on the track. His raps are fresh. I really like this song.

To put it simply, it has a 1980s background with some 1970s funk, peppered with f(x)’s unusual splash.

This song is about traveling and exploring the world and branching out of one area. It’s a great traveling song.

8) Papi

Also a favorite of many people. Really catchy. It has a Latino theme obviously. But it’s also upbeat and pop-ish. It brings to mind some of Ricky Martin’s songs back in the day. It’s upbeat and fun. It’s a cool, upbeat, catchy dance number. “Papi, let’s go, I kind of like it!” That’s one of the lyrics, and I kind of like it.

This song is quite unique as well. This would be nice with a music video.

This song is about being a hot partner, possibly a dance partner (?), and appealing to all the fellows. They are looking for someone just as amazing.

9) Cash Me Out

From my understanding, this song was meant to come out in 2013, around the Pink Tape era. It sounds like it. It has an electronic feeling that is reminiscent of that time. This song is really catchy. It’s a really good dance numbers. f(x) has quite a few good dance numbers. But it’s always peppered with f(x)’s original flair. I really love this song. This is also on repeat.

There are quite a few songs about valuable things on this album. This is about finding someone so valuable, everything else seems worthless.

10) When I’m Alone

This song is dream-like and melodious in the beginning and strong in the chorus. It sounds like an f(x) song. It’s so catchy. I really love it. It sort of reminds me of a Madonna song…I can’t put my finger on it…

I hear that Carly Rae Jepson was the writer behind this song. WOW.

It’s a really interesting song to end with. But I’m satisfied.

This song is about being alone with one’s dreams. Though the outside world may ridicule or say something about your dreams, sometimes you can’t help but hide those dreams deep in your heart. Perhaps they have fantasies of someone they love and people feel it’s just a fantasy (?).

Overall, I feel this album is way better than Red Light on many levels when it comes to appealing to the public. Still, it doesn’t top Pink Tape in delivery (the cover was a pink VHS tape!) or variety (every song sounded uniquely different on Pink Tape; every song on 4 Walls has an EDM style or retro vibe, making them seem more related). And yet, I can’t stop listening to this album front to back…I love every song. I feel the music on this album is more addictive than Pink Tape. There isn’t one song that doesn’t feel like an easy listen. This album gets a 10/10 from me.

Unlike with Red Light, I honestly feel satisfied at the end with just 10 songs. Great job girls.

WHAT HAPPENED TO SULLI?

For those of you who don’t know what happened to Sulli, I will explain:

Fans, especially fans in Korea, ran her away. She was never on bad terms with the group or SM. This all started in 2013. Sulli became bogged down with both her acting and her music career. She started to seem tired and “lazy” on stage to some people. During Rum Pum Pum Pum performances, people noticed she did the choreography different. They assumed it was because she was lazy or assumed she lost her passion for the group. According to her, she was actually uncomfortable in the short skirts, as she was always put in the shortest skirts during that performance.

But fans can be ruthless. They slammed her, calling her talentless, lazy, and claiming that she was unimportant to the group. One fan even made a Twitter account as a “campaign” to remove her from the group. Well, things got even worse when pictures leaked showing her dating Dynamic Duo’s Choiza, a man several years older than she is and with a name translated to mean “Big Dick”. Her representative from SM kept telling people that she’s not dating and that someone’s spreading false rumors. Then, in the later half of the year, around the time of Red Light promotions, word got out that she actually WAS dating him. So people felt Sulli lied to the public, and that made them lose respect for her. Soon after that, Sulli was missing from the live performances. She said it was because she was sick, but pictures were released showing her out on dates with Choiza. People assumed she was skipping out on promotions to be around Choiza. Soon, Sulli went on a hiatus, saying she was mentally exhausted from all the malicious comments. Soon, all of f(x) went on hiatus, causing all RL promotions to be halted. This angered fans more. F(x) only comes out with one comeback a year, so people were devastated. They blamed Sulli for it, but actually the girls could’ve just continued without her. All of f(x) were actually busy with schedules, so they all thought they needed a break.

Still, Sulli couldn’t shake the anti-fans. She left the group this year to focus on acting. Fans of her Kdramas don’t give her as much grief.

Sulli still loves her members and SM. She still wanted to be a part of the group. But what is an idol without fans?

So now f(x) is back as four members, and they have done really well actually.

f(x) Pink Tape Review

GN’s LEAST FAVORITE f(x) album?

Why f(x) of all K-pop groups?

This is all really exciting for me because this is my first comeback where I witness the whole f(x) “comeback scene”. After all, I’ve only been a fan of f(x) since February, so I was really excited to hear what f(x) had to offer next. I missed out on experiencing the excitement and anticipation that most f(x) fans have been experiencing for years.

During the last four (or has it been five?) months I’ve been an f(x) fan, I’ve learned to expect the unexpected from f(x).

If you want to hear other f(x) albums, you can listen below:

But this comeback has left me completely SHOCKED. I feel stunned. I can say that I’m happy to be coming in the fandom at a time where f(x) is taking a huge turn in their career.

Out of all of the many different comebacks in K-pop this year, any year, really, and out of all of f(x)’s comebacks, this one stands out the most. But before I get into that, I’d like to share what first ROCKED the K-pop world: The Red Light teaser images.

When I first saw the teaser images for this comeback, I absolutely couldn’t believe it. f(x) was rocking such a dark, edgy concept. I wasn’t shocked about them taking a darker turn, because I knew f(x) would try something completely different, like they do every year. They aren’t the types to follow the mainstream or to stay in their comfort zones. Even though they are usually quite colorful, their debut images for Lachata weren’t extremely colorful, so this kind of felt like a “return” to a darker fashion.

But the difference is they were so…creepy…eerie…dangerous…and SEXY! As prepared as I thought I was for the unexpected, it still rattled my cage. f(x) has this thing about them, this charisma, where they don’t have to show a lot of skin to be sexy. They also have this thing where they can turn both guys and girls on. These photos conveyed a bit of a scary, ghostly feeling at times, a Wild Wild West feeling, a gangsta feeling, a secret agent feeling, and even a Tomb Raider feeling. Just something about these photos seemed so intense, so different from the friendly f(x) we’re all used to seeing. Many of them brought out their sass and what really makes each of them uniquely charismatic and attractive…in a “bad-ass” sort of way.

f(x) has REALLY matured as a group. These images have been, by far, the most amazing photos I’ve seen of them. It showed such a huge transformation, that it left an impact on all those who witnessed it. It was definitely a cool way to turn up the heat.

What I like about Krystal’s photos is that she changed her “cute” image for something a little scary. I feel Krystal gets objectified often, more often than the others. Krystal herself said she likes this concept “because a lot of times she’s given roles that make her look pretty, but just this once she wanted something that would make her look darker and different”. This concept gave Krystal the opportunity to step outside of the box and be a little “creepy” and “scary”. The blonde suits her SO well. She’s one of the very few artists that can step in a new hair color comfortably.

Luna just slayed! She completely stepped out of her “girl-next-door” image, and provided the “sass” true Luna fans knew was hiding in her. She worked a blue bob, something I’ve seen very few artists achieve!

Victoria took such elegant photos! She never seems to get old! Her beauty shined in these photos. I love her eye-patch the most. It’s so stylish, it makes me want one.

Sulli looks like a Gothic doll! So beautiful, and yet so edgy! I love her casual photos, and I especially love her in suit and tie!

Amber conveys her personality the most. It’s almost hard to disguise Llama! 😛 But wow, Amber, did you have to come so sexy, though? Amber rocks red hair like it’s nobody’s business!

The thing that really sparks a trend is how they have eye-liner on one eye instead of two. That’s just f(x) being the trend-setters in the K-pop industry. The bowler hats, the suit jackets and ties, the eye-patches…girls y’all are smokin’!

They just remind me so much of a certain boy group…SHINEE! 😛

The music video’s visuals also left a powerful impression on people this time around! Everyone looked so good, the visuals were so unique from anything done by SM or f(x), and the editing was perfection. It definitely leaves quite an impression. It is unforgettable. I literally left out of that music video much the same way I left the movie theater after seeing Hunger Games…stunned-speechless-out-of-my-mind. If you’re a fan of f(x), you know why. Even if you’re not, you will understand what I’m saying after watching the video.

So, overall the concept is impressive, and really draws me in. I seriously want to blow these pictures up and put them in frames! In lovely, beautiful frames!

fx-red-light-group

The cover of this album isn’t in a specially designed package, unfortunately. Darn. I don’t think this tops Pink Tape‘s covering. But the cover seems “hot to the touch”. I love the look and feel of it. This concept is just so challenging and dangerous! Also, it’s still more interesting than most CD covers out. It’s more like a boxed booklet. The booklet is attached to the box… The booklet part inside shows even more amazing photos of the girls. I just can’t get enough.

There are two versions: The Wild Cats and the Sleeping Cats. I got the Sleeping Cats. The very difference between the versions are the pictures in the booklet. I really want the Wild Cats Version, too. From what I’ve seen of the Wild Cats booklet, the pictures are so edgy! But Sleeping Cats is cool, too. I don’t know why the Wild Cats version reminds me of High School Musical right now…

NOW. Down to the music.

I’ve told you all before that f(x) is my favorite group in K-pop because they always explore unique and quirky sounds. f(x)’s music is very distinct. They have this overall sound that can’t be defined or categorized. They are usually barely mainstream. They hang on by a thread. I think it’s because most of them aren’t Korean. They just don’t fit in. They do their “own thing”. I ❤ this aspect. They never cease to bring a versatility and variety of different songs to the table, and yes, this album was no different in it’s delivery, if not more so than usual. There is just so much potential in this group. There are things f(x) can try that most groups can’t.

Well, this album doesn’t fit the mainstream AT ALL. In fact, it’s very Americanized…

f(x) slays me once again!

WARNING: RED LIGHT, RED LIGHT: The Following material is experimental, outrageous, a little revolutionary, and quite insane. This album is artistic to the core, and thus, may take you off-guard. I’m not sure y’all are ready for this. Some of the lyrics carry interesting messages.

f(x)’s Amber said in an interview with After School Club that a very “real” sound is coming back in trend. After hearing this album, I understand what direction f(x) is trying to take…The songs each bring an interesting message and sound to the fore. This album is expressive. Amber herself had a hand in two of the songs on the album, from what I hear.

f(x) really tried something new. Again, just like with Pink Tape, there is something for everybody on this album. Many songs have a “disarranged” sort of feeling, much like Trap or House music. This album is best summed up with one word: Avant-Garde. There are a lot of songs that could fit in the Trap and House music genre. It’s so innovative, f(x) can’t be confused by anyone in K-pop this year!

With this album, every song sounds better with speakers or headphones, so I advise you get them out!

The best part about this comeback is the fact that they blessed us with another full album, much to my surprise! I really expected an EP. Usually, they have a pattern: EP, full album, EP, full album. This time they released another full album right after their last one.

1) Red Light

This song carries so many controversies. After the music video was released, many were left wondering about the message of this song, as it seemed like it was some sort of conspiracy, like something strange was happening, and it made people a little uncomfortable. It’s just that most people aren’t used to thinking deeply in the K-pop universe…So, most were not clear about this message. This music video is a little chilling, and definitely not like f(x)’s usual friendly music.

http://www.soompi.com/2014/07/23/fx-members-take-on-mature-and-sophisticated-look-for-the-celebrity/

To add, KBS gave f(x) all kinds of issues for this song, not allowing f(x) to perform it on their music show because of a portion in their lyrics that makes reference to an American company. f(x) had to alter it to perform! It definitely highlighted the differences between Korean and Western standards for “freedom of speech”…Though once upon a time, Western countries would censor things, too. The word that caused so much controversy was “Caterpillar”. I know what you’re thinking? What? Over a bug? Well, let me explain…

The song’s lyrics are focusing on the growing ecological issue that’s spreading slowly across the globe. “Caterpillar”, also known for the “CAT” symbol,  is a company that manufactures diesel-fueled engines. This is the reason there is a cat in the video. This company is known for spreading a revolutionary, albeit controversial, plan to bring diesel fuel around the world. Diesel fuel is believed to be better for the environment.  It emits lower amounts of carbon monoxide, monoxide, and hydrocarbons. I’m not sure if f(x) is for it, against it, or if this is all symbolic of something else. The “Red Light” emphasis is to tell us pollution and our poor natural environment are at a risk, and the song emphasizes that it’s a major issue that should be addressed. Basically, they are telling us to appreciate what we have, and don’t take it for granted.

What’s irritating to me is that when a song gets one ounce of meaning in it, people want to question it or place it on the “I” word. It’s like people would rather listen to shallow entertainment, rather than meaningful, contemplative entertainment…

This song is also getting a lot of “raised eyebrows” for the strange way it transitions throughout the song. The verses are low in tone with a sick, military-like beat to represent an urgent message that they want the listener to take seriously. The bridge then smooths out the military-like, hip-hop sound into a segment meant for vocalists, representing a “still moment” before the “big bang”. In translation, this moment seems to be reminding us to take a breath, and realize how we can “breathe”, which is also to remind us of what we take for granted. Then suddenly, the chorus awkwardly disrupts into an upbeat pop number, meant to represent the sudden revolution that is taking place to fight this issue. This song is really telling us, through all of this symbolism, to appreciate the things we have and not take anything for granted. Everything is precious.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Light_(album)#cite_note-21

It’s an Electronic-House song. Transitions, like in this song, are common in the House music genre, but most people who listen to mainstream pop music don’t listen much to House music. So, obviously, it takes people off-guard.

The vocals on this track showed glorious beauty, even within an electronic background. Amber, Krystal, and Luna showed phenomenal vocal range. Thank you for letting Amber sing! Sulli and Victoria did amazing rapping sessions.

This is actually my favorite track because of the controversy, the risks taken, the artistry, and the fierce message! This isn’t some mainstream crap, this is in-your-face. It does something different. It makes pop music look “cool” to fans of underground music. In fact, it really caught on to me from the first listen. But I know this song isn’t usual. It is f(x)’s most experimental sound…possibly similar to the music you might hear from YG productions. When I first heard 2ne1’s “I Am the Best” and “Come Back Home”, they transitioned awkwardly much the same way…Though, I’m not sure if YG has ever done House music before…

I was just a tad bit afraid f(x) would just follow all the other female K-pop groups by going for an overly-sexual concept. I’m so glad they didn’t. They pulled off sexy without looking desperate.

This song slays! “Love [it] or hate [it], it’s still an obsession”-Lady Sovereign

An American channel, Fuse TV, applauds f(x) for this track. Click Me to find out why. Ya’ll should already know. This track is contemporary, and it is something that has NEVER been done in K-pop. It may not be everyone’s taste, but as I say about f(x), you can’t deny their artistry, ability to “shake up a nation” of pop, their bold approach, and their ability to make an impact.

This song is by far f(x)’s, and SM’s, deepest song. It screams depth and substance.

This song is better appreciated with some speakers or headphones. It also needs to be listened to more than once to be appreciated. Since it’s not mainstream, it takes a while to catch on, much like carefully disarranged music from Fantasia or the inconsistent “What’s Around the Riverbend” from the movie Pocahontas. But once you listen to this about three times, you’ll be able to find the rhythm, and then it will get stuck in your head. It also helps to understand the lyrics.

It’s a powerful title song. 1) Because it’s not usual for a title song. Most lead songs are very mainstream and catchy. 2) It has a powerful message. Possibly it’s a message that needs to be said.

I love this better than “Rum Pum Pum Pum”. It’s so fascinating. And a lot to take in.

JMMPP said this on youtube,

Simply put, the whole song is about activists and the way we get brainwashed by corporations to close our eyes in regards to daily ecologic crisis.
Red light AKA red signal as in it’s an emergency. They are seen running at some point and are dressed in a rather bad arse way to precisely portray the activists they incarnate At some poitn in the verse you can hear they sing Caterpillar. Caterpillar is worldwide known industrial group that has taken part in the destruction of many forests and whatnot which explain why SM had to change the lyrics and erase their name from the verse for their very first live performance of the song in McCountdown or else they wouldn’t have been able to actually showcase their song. The phone pretyy much symbolyzes the “Red LIght”. Much like an ambulance ligths if you will. The burning book symbolyzes the ecological crisis in question, the eyepatch as well as their make up – which by the way reminds me very much of Clockwork Orange by Stanley Kubrick – symbolyzes duality. The fact of being fully aware of the crisis yet not  quite do anything about it.
You can clearly see in the scene that showcases mannequins in front of a screen that they basically talk about propaganda and being brainwashed. The flower that as well as the house that pretty much blows up both in black and white symbolyzes the eminence and gravity of the current situation. And finally; the fact that Krystal closes the book although it is still bruning and the fact that no ones answers the phone shows that really, like I said, no one actually cares but this crisis in. The whole concept is quite brilliant and makes perfect sense once you take the time to read the lyrics translation.

2) Milk

Cats and Dogs in the beginning…Cats seem to be a strong part of this album…

This song is much catchier and smoother than the first track. This is one of Teddy Riley’s creations. The song carries an “Egyptian-desert” sound or perhaps it’s “Bollywood” style much like “Rum Pum Pum Pum”. Maybe this is just how it sounds to me…

The chorus is quite “milky”, like smooth, cold milk moving down the throat, and very catchy. The style is good. I think this is a solid track. It’s mellow and carries a hint of maturity.

I can’t help but want to drink milk after listening to this…Oh, Milk, what would I do without you? xD

The song seems to be about a girl who is hot from the summer heat, suffering from a break-up, and then all of a sudden she sees milk in the “kitchen”…and decides to drink her problems away. Ha ha! Comical. Priceless. Unique. And we’re getting drunk off the milk! This is a nice summer cut.

Once again, f(x) charms us with their quirky lyrics, strange references, and/or unconventional metaphors, which really keeps the listener entertained. I love the feeling of this song.

3) Butterfly

This song is just amazing! It feels like a 1980’s/1990’s synth-pop number. This is actually a song that, at first, sounded like a Britney Spears song from a long time ago on one of her albums, but the chorus makes it more melodic. It’s amazing in the verses, but the vocals in the chorus leave me breathless! Amber sings SO, SO, SO well with this kind of song. Sulli! I’m glad her voice shined! I love this song so much. The chorus really reminds me of Origa’s music…It’s a bit like folk-pop music.

This song is perfection. It’s so different from any I’ve heard from a K-pop artist. It’s so expressive. I feel this song. Deeply.

The lyrics seem to describe themselves as butterflies. Even the chorus drifts “lightly” like a butterfly. A white butterfly comes into view as the “image” of this story. A butterfly can be interesting if you take the time to look at the smaller things in life. This could have a deeper symbolic meaning…It could describe the love of someone else…Someone special. I think it’s comparing their actions to a butterfly when they’re in love.

4) Rainbow

This is that Trap number! It has the “switcheru” feeling to it, just like “Red Light”. It’s a bit disarranged. But this song is likable and catchy. It’s a club banger. This song is DJ-styled. This song is SHANK and SLAYS on all levels. It’s definitely experimental, quirky, and takes a chance. The pop-trap hybrid has been described perfectly by a fan: “A dirty drop, pretty verses, a break, a smooth chorus, a dirty drop” -Quote Roy Lowery on Youtube.

I love it! I love Amber’s introduction, translated as “Bounce, Bounce, Bounce…” and the chorus makes me sold.

Amber and Krystal’s English additions add charm to the song.

The song is about being so drunk in love, you see rainbows. It makes the person feel a little crazy and a little high (lol f(x)? High? 😛 ). Probably the reason the song is so disarranged. Again, another artistic piece. It could have a deeper meaning…

It could encourage loving all people, appreciating that the world is colorful like a “rainbow”. The LGBT community might use this as a theme…Well, if they like it. I do.

This also reminds me of a YG song, but then again, not really…WOW. f(x) adds their own quirky flavor and interesting metaphors once again.

5) All Night

This sounds more like a K-pop song. BoA, Girls’ Generation…yes, it’s peppered with SM. This is also Teddy Riley’s contribution. He did a bang-up job with the songs he gave f(x). They didn’t disappoint.

This really sounds like a Michael Jackson song from Off the Wall, too, or from the album, Thriller. Ya’ll know what I’m talking about. It also reminds me of some songs off of one of the Bratz albums…

This song is a slow, funky jam. It has that “’80’s school dance feeling”. I like the rhythm, the vocals, the beat, and the bass. This is a love song. A very normal one, surprisingly. A girl is dancing, sees someone attractive, wants to be alone with this person all night. I guess this is for the more “casual” listeners, ya know, the people who like consistent melodies.

This is that disco melody. I’ve been jamming all night!

6) Vacance

This song also has a ’70s/’80s feeling. It has that funky, disco, feeling. It’s a great vacation song! I like this song! I’m listening to this on a road trip. It suits that kind of occassion.

By the way, Vacance means ‘vacation’ in French. This song is lively, funky, and fun! I just love this!

Luna’s vocals in this song! This also reminds me of a Bratz song! xD

f(x) must’ve really been hot this summer. This is the second song that mentions the heat! There’s nothing like summer vacation and feeling free!

7) Spit It Out

Put your headphones on or your speakers!

This is one quirky break-up song! It is feisty, powerful, and very edgy! This song is fierce. This song kind of reminds me of the music Missy Elliot might have made back in the past.

It also reminds me of Rihanna’s “Where Have You Been?”  in the dance break…

I like the “drum beat” bridge. It sort of sounds like a “marching band”. Great.

This song actually sounds like an arcade video game song, suited for games like Sonic, Crash Bandicoot, or Mario

This song has some interesting transitions, just like “Red Light”. This song has an ’80’s House music sound.. f(x) came strong with the Trap and House music. House music originated in Chicago in the ’80’s. Trap is popular in the clubs. f(x) is bringing it! Wow. This is a club banger.

This song is quirkier than “Red Light”, though.

I think the lyrics are talking about a girl who has finally confessed her heart to the guy she loves, and he turns her down, breaking her heart. Basically, she’s saying he ate up her heart, and she wants it back. The girl believes the guy does have feelings for her, and is lying, or maybe it’s in their own imagination (?). But it makes them angry that he’s playing it so “distant”. So, “Spit it Out”! I love this. The next guy that does something like this to me, I’m going to tell him to “Spit it Out”! So clever, cool, and again, it’s f(x)’s entertaining lyrics. “Spit it Out” is my favorite part of the song.

Some people says it reminds them of Shinee’s “Lucifer” at times…I think the very beginning of “Lucifer”.

8) Boom Bang Boom

Strong hip-hop drop in the verses! This song really reminds me of Missy Elliot at times…

The chorus is fun, lively, and loud! It is super catchy! This song is really bold and fierce.

I love the transitions. This song does it much smoother than the other songs that tried the Trap music style. It has that cool beat, that bass, and I can’t get enough of it! Then the feisty f(x) goes, “Are You Ready for It? RAWR!” And after that, I was sold.

This song is to some phony people out here. It’s to those people who judge others. It’s to those people who pretend like you’re hardly there when you speak. This can also be to a lover who acts distant. The song is set up in a boxing-ring-like atmosphere…It’s so funny. I think I will play this for the next phony person that walks by. This shows a new side to f(x)! f(x) is saying that when they come, they hit hard, like “Boom Bang Boom”. So you better watch your back, because these girls fight hard! If you even think about playing f(x), if you even think about being a hater, they will hit you until your heart says “Boom Bang Boom!” Some people may think the f(x) girls are weak. Then, once f(x) fights back in the lyrics, proving how strong they are, the phony person seems to change their tune in the song. I think they scared the crap out of that phony person! LOL

Krystal likes this song…You can tell. 😛

9) Dracula

This song is easily one of f(x)’s best songs! WOW. So eerie, so scary, so edgy, almost like a rock song. This song fits the teaser images above well.

This song kind of reminds me of Evanescence, Within Temptation, Delain, Nightwish, Indica, and After Forever in many ways. Especially Nightwish. It’s like Gothic pop,  Gothic symphonic…Luna and Krystal’s vocals!

A lot of rock fans like it.

In any case, it’s impressive. This song is well-arranged. It reminds me of a horror film. This song is catchy, too. It is more consistent than most of the other songs on the album.

The lyrics focus on Dracula, a man who preys upon beautiful, lonely women with his magnetism and charisma…but of course, eventually, he will suck your blood! This song is on replay.

I don’t know why it reminds me of Monster High’s Draculaura…I can’t help but say her name every time!

10) Summer Lover

This is one of the songs Amber had a hand in. Oooo, Amber, who you in love with? I think she’s credited for the music. Possibly the composition or production? And yes, the lyrics.

Anywho, f(x) is famous for their “Summer” titles: “Hot Summer”, “Good-bye Summer”, and now, “Summer Lover”. I think Amber is a “Summertime Girl”, don’t you? She grew up in California, where the weather is always warm, where it feels like summer all-year round, and where she can be outside all day.

I don’t think I will be able to get all of these summer titles together. LOL I keep mixing them up.

This song reminds me of late ’90s bubblegum pop. In fact, it reminds me of the Spice Girls (and you know how much I ❤ the Spice Girls). This is a great, fun song for the summer!

It’s a romantic song, of course. And no, there are no quirky references or metaphors. It is a simple, innocent love song for the summer. It’s a lot like the goal of Pink Tape in the fact that it focuses on innocent feelings of love.

11) Paper Heart

This seems to be a favorite among people, and seems to be drawing new fans. I know why.

Amber has a hand in this song as well, from what I hear. It’s not surprising. This is like a song we’d normally hear in Western countries.

This is probably the first Country-folk pop song to ever scrape the K-pop world.

This song is catchy in a soft way. Just like in Pink Tape, f(x) ends with their most meaningful, well-composed song. After this song, I can’t help feeling like I want more…

This song is sweet, soothing, and reminds me of life on a farm. It makes me want to run across a meadow, smell the flowers, and splash in a waterfall. It’s very poetic. It’s so expressive! WOW. It definitely sounds like a Taylor Swift song…back when Taylor Swift would sing songs like “Love Story”. It even reminds me of Shakira’s “Gypsy”.

I was happy to hear Sulli start the song instead of Krystal. It was a refreshing change.

Beautiful vocals, lovely lyrics, and that “real” sound Amber must’ve been talking about. It does remind me of Busker Busker…

The lyrics focus on a girl who has never been serious about someone, has never been in a serious relationship, and never had her heart broken. On the outside, she seems tough, but on the inside her heart is like “paper”: It can be torn easily. I LOVE THIS SONG. Amber can seriously make some GOOD songs.

So, you want my rating? Overall, I think this album is something different for the K-pop world, something that has never been done, even by f(x). Talk about f(x) being quirky, experimental, and unconventional! The awkward transitions on the album express the emotions of the lyrics well. The album is truly innovative, creative, expressive, and hard-work was put behind it. There is something for everyone, as always. The versatility and variety is what I’ve always liked about this group. I hope to hear more from Victoria in the future. She shined in “Butterfly”. The lyrics are interesting, as always. There are more “twerk” numbers and Trap music than there ever have been on an f(x) album, but it’s also refreshing to hear Gothic and Country pop. I have to say, I’m impressed. This album is one of the “realest” albums to ever hit K-pop stores. As I always say about f(x), their music isn’t always everyone’s taste, but most can’t deny their artistry, their bold, contemporary sounds, their ability to take a risk and work with it, their unusual lyrics which make them stand out, or their woozy harmonies. I feel like f(x) has matured in a way that hasn’t necessarily made them lose their lively, youthful spirit, but has made them better artists. They never cease to amaze me, and they are never what I expect them to be. This is why they always keep their fans excited.

My only disappointment was the packaging, as it didn’t top last year’s. I give this comeback a 9/10.

F(x)’s album has slayed all 9 of Korea’s music charts, both with the title song and others from the album, and is about to enter U.S.’s Billboard 200 chart!

http://www.kpopstarz.com/articles/98896/20140710/u-s-billboard-states-its-only-a-matter-of-time-before-f-x-enters-the-billboard-200-chart.htm

They entered #2 on Billboard’s World Charts:

http://www.billboard.com/charts/world-albums

IT HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED at a recent fansigning that a REPACKAGED ALBUM is coming soon, and that means, a new MUSIC VIDEO! So, if you weren’t all over “Red Light” MV, you have the chance to like the new MV! Amber also mentioned that she requested a live concert with SM! We’ll see! This seems to be f(x)’s year!

However, there are rumors that f(x) has to achieve 15 million views in a month for their MV in order for them to release the re-packaged album. I hope not…

Have a listen to the album and tell me what you think!

By now, if you’ve been following my blog, you know that I’ve been f(x) crazy for the last two months, and my obsession doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon. It won’t slow down until my big “promotional move” I have planned this summer. But that will be kept under my hat until then…

Just remember to #bfx2us and put your town behind it to show where your love for f(x) is coming from, if of course, you’ve fallen in love with this group as much as I have.

Well, this article is a part of that promotion. My goal is to push for an f(x) tour for, at least, next year.

To all of you who have watched the music videos, and who doubt the talent of the f(x) members, I will be doing something similar to an artist “portfolio”. In this case, I will be showcasing the musical background and skills of each f(x) artist. This resume “portfolio” of sorts will show all readers why I think these girls qualify to be a part of f(x), why I believe them to be SM’s major female multi-national group, and why I think f(x) has what it takes to make it internationally.

Basically, this is why I think you newcomers should hire them as one of your new favorite K-pop groups. 😉

Drum roll please…

Today, Ladies and Gentlemen, I will be introducing the power vocalist, the amazing dancer: LUNA!

Park Sun-Young “Luna”

f(x) Luna

86056537

f(x) pinocchio mv pictures (21)

Luna is the sweet, compassionate, and extremely talented member of f(x). There is no denying how talented this girl is. This girl has some seriously powerful vocals! She’s been compared to BoA, Queen of K-pop and SM Town’s first major international star.

Luna has a lot of “soul”. Her inspirations include Whitney Houston and Jennifer Hudson. She is very fascinated with African American culture and music. She often mentions her fascination with African American dances and R&B sounds.

Luna is, by far, the kindest. She has shown the most compassion out of all the other f(x) members.

She is also the most hard-working, as one psychologist in a radio interview pointed out. She LOVES music, anyone can tell, because all she does is sing!

Luna is a bit dorky and funny, too!

Speaking of music, it’s time to review Luna-Bear’s credentials! This should be good.

Luna Can Sing

Really? Do I have to explain? If I do, that’s a shame, because this girl…she’s A-MAZING! If you have never heard her vocals, I suggest you do an about-face and head back to youtube to listen to more f(x) music. Luna is the lead vocalist for a very good reason. She loves to sing and music has a lot of meaning to her. You can tell. She’s not just a great singer, but she feels the music, which is why she’s so good.

I honestly feel she is the best singer in SM Entertainment.

Luna sang “And I Am Telling You (I’m Not Going)” at the Samsung-deong F(x) Showcase performance.

Luna sang “One Thousand Days” on Immortal Song 2.

Luna sang on Immortal Song 2 featuring f(x) mate Amber.

Luna sang Michael Jackson-inspired “I Don’t Know” on Immortal Song 2.

Luna sang “Stupid” on Immortal Song 2.

Luna performed quite a musical number called “Travel Companion” for Immortal Song 2.

Luna singing “Don’t Forget”.

Luna singing “Calling Out”.

Luna singing with Onew the song “Beauty and the Beast”.

Luna sings to the Rumba dance in Girls’ Generation Live.

Luna unveiled herself as the “masked singer” in King of Masked Singer. She sang “Sad Fate” as her final performance.

Luna sang with top vocalists Ailee, Eunji from Apink, and Solar from Mamamoo!

Luna Can Dance

As if that wasn’t enough, Luna can DANCE. The girl was a hip-hop star as a kid. She can REALLY dance.

Luna dancing to “Maybe”.

Luna dancing as a child on Truth Game.

A compilation of Luna’s dancing.

Luna dancing pre-debut.

Luna dances in her new solo music video “Free Somebody”!

Luna Can play the Keyboard and Speak Sign

Yep, we have to add this talent to that list: She can play the keyboard!

Luna signs her song in sign language, and shows off her keyboard skills in “The Day the Sun Rises” on Immortal Song 2.

Luna Writes Her Own Music

For Luna’s recent solo mini album, Free Somebody, Luna has written two songs! Apparently, she has come out of the box with song-writing talent!

Luna wrote the songs “I Wish” and “My Medicine”.

Isn’t Luna amazingly talented?! And Luna is all about the music! She may not get as much attention and promotion as the other girls, but she doesn’t need it. She DESERVES to be called Queen!

Luna has acting experience as well. She acted in Saving Mrs. Go Bongshil and the Broadway musical High School Musical in Korea.

Luna always struck me as dramatic, so it’s no surprise she’s a pretty good actress!

Just How Talented is F(x)’s Song Qian “Victoria”?

4 May

This article will be about the flexible Victoria!

Song Qian “Victoria”

Victoria is f(x)’s oldest member, but most youthful member. She is the leader of f(x). She is also the lead dancer. Many people are aware of her flexibility. Victoria has a lot of personality, as was evident in the American online show Funny or Die with Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect).

Victoria has a mature beauty that is hard to deny. She has the most mature-looking body in f(x). She has a full chest, full butt, and just not SUPER SKINNY or scrawny. And she’s not always eager to flaunt it like some other girls in K-pop.

She’s always “everyone’s girl”. She was in Bi-Rain’s video, she was Shinee’s girl in their video “Replay”, and she “married” 2 PM’s Nichkhun in We Got Married.

She has this girly, yet classy, look about her.

Victorias-featured-image

Victoria is well-known for her flexibility and her acting abilities, but many have never heard her vocally.

So, let’s review her credentials!

Victoria is a Flexible Dancer

Everybody knows Victoria can dance. She learned to dance at the Beijing Dance Academy!

Victoria is an amazing performer, and never ceases to amaze the crowd.

Victoria danced with Bi-Rain in the Samsung video “AnyDream”.

Victoria is challenged by Miss A’s Jia to a battle of “flexibility”.

A Compilation of Victoria’s flexibility.

Victoria and Exo’s Tao perform together, showing off their flexibility.

Victoria dances to “Love, Sex, Magic”.

Victoria dances with Super Junior.

Victoria and 2 PM’s Nichkhun performed a steamy dance together during their time “married”.

Victoria danced solo for “Telephone”.

Victoria danced solo on Happy Camp.

Victoria…SINGING? WHAT?

You know why Victoria doesn’t sing often? Because her Korean isn’t as good as her Chinese. And she shines in Chinese! Wow! I was quite impressed.

I’ve also heard some negative things about her vocals (just like Sulli), and she doesn’t sing much. But when I heard her sing in Chinese, I was quite impressed! That is her first language, so…please give her a chance. She actually can sing!

Why doesn’t SM give her more lines? I don’t get it…

Victoria sang with Super Junior-M’s Zhou Mi at SM Town in Beijing…Wow.

Victoria sings with Kyuhyun.

If you can hear above the crowd, this is Victoria singing live in Bangkok.

Victoria sang “Tian Mi Mi” in Chinese, along with her fellow members.

Victoria Speaks Chinese and Korean

Victoria was born in Shandong, China, so she speaks Chinese Mandarin. She also speaks Korean, as she is a Korean pop star. She is more popular in China than in Korea, which can’t be helped. That IS her hometown after all, and apparently, she shines most in China. I really hope Victoria gets a Chinese song for f(x)’s next comeback., at least as a bonus track…if they do that in SM…

Victoria and Krystal speak Chinese, English, and Korean.

Victoria at the Sina interview.

So, I hope you all have learned a bit about Victoria. I know I learned A LOT from the research I’ve done.

Hopefully, now you might fall in love with Victoria and the rest of f(x)…right? 😉

Victoria is also quite the actress and has acted on several dramas.

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

Amber Liu is the charming tomboy in the f(x) group. You really can’t miss her. She stands out, not only in the f(x) group, but in the sea that is full of K-pop idols. Amber has a unique appearance, but she also has a very charming personality. She’s funny, friendly, and open-minded.
